June Favourites

Oh hey boos, welcome to quite possibly the latest June faves in all the land. I hope you'll still find it relevant despite it us basically being half way through July now, lol my bad. In my defence, I did set myself up in a comfy little corner of Starbucks with a basic gal Americano in hand ready to educate you about all of my true loves of the month until I realised that the trusty Starbucks wifi wasn't working and I had to make a sly escape to the nearest NYX counter. I tried. I've not done a monthly favourites in a very very long time but June is the best month of the whole entire year (no I'm not biased because it's my bday month, why would you even say that?) so it only felt right to dedicate a post to it and all the goodies it brought with it. There are loads of beauty bits and bobs that I've also been loving throughout June which I haven't included in this post, purely because I posted a Big Summer Beauty Haul a few weeks ago which is definitely your go to place if your money is burning a hole in your pocket and the spending spree itch is feeling strong, sorry to your bank account in advance.

I feel like I better get one of the most exciting faves out of the way before I wee myself a bit with the anticipation of telling you about it. I have been desperately lusting over the white Olympus Pen for forever and have spent the last few months counting down the days until my birthday when it would finally be mine. I also really wanted to get the pancake 17mm lens to go with it so asked for Amazon vouchers from some of my family to put towards it, then literally ordered it on Prime on the evening of my birthday because I was that much of a keen bean. I have been absolutely loving having such a good quality but portable sized camera to carry around with me but my fave features are definitely the fact you can import photos straight to your phone via wifi and the flip screen which has been making flat lays and selfies so much easier and in turn dramatically improving my life.

Although I did buy these in May for going away on holiday, I have been wearing them constantly throughout June to the point where it's kind of embarrassing and I need to reign it in. I've owned quite a few different pairs of converse in the past, including white, however they've always been canvas which means your gal is kind of reluctant to wear them in the rain (which is basically every day in Scotland which kinda creates a problem) and they've all gotten dirty pretty quickly. So when my brain randomly calm up with the not-so-ingenious idea to splash a little bit extra and buy leather ones so they would be waterproof and could wipe clean, I bought them straight away. I've been loving having a no-effort shoe that literally looks good with everything and doesn't turn your feet into a breeding ground for  blisters. It's actually really surprising and depressing how rare that is tbh and I feel like no one does it better than Converse, number one fan girl over here.

I've always loved to pay a little bit extra for a really good quality and, more recently, designer purse because I feel like it's something we use so often so we might as well invest in, plus everyone's always telling us to treat ourselves so I mean...ok, if you insist. When I saw adverts for the Kate Spade Summer sale I kind of couldn't resist having a peek and after a few minutes of scrolling, it was love at first sight. I knew I wasn't going to be able to stop thinking about this pink floral beaut and when you get yourself in to one of those situations you're screwed and, regardless of how skint it's going to make you, you have no choice but to enter your card details. Top tip: you get 10% off when you sign up to the mailing list which should ease your conscience a bit. I love my florals so much so pulling out such a bright and beautiful print from my bag every day has made me so happy throughout June.

I got back from my holiday at the very beginning of June and although it feels like a distant memory, I've still got a bit of a tan left as a nice reminder that we did actually go away and I didn't just dream about it. However, despite loving being slightly more bronzed than usual, as per I'm left with the age old problem of being too dark for every foundation I own. By chance I found two little samples of Benefit Big Easy BB Cream floating around in my makeup drawer and decided to give it a try as the shade seemed pretty dark. I absolutely loved using it on my skin just on its own but now that my tan is starting to fade and I feel like I want a bit more coverage again, I've been mixing it with my normal foundation to try and darken it up a bit. I've loved using the combination of the two and feel like the BB cream just gives my skin an added look of hydration and a bit of an extra glow. Benefit do say that Big Easy controls oil and I have found myself not reaching for my trusty Rimmel Stay Matte powder as much so something tells me it's not a coincidence. I'll deffo be buying a full size tube when my samples run out.

My beautiful Olivia Burton watch was my main birthday present from Blair and I am absolutely in love with it. It's so pretty and dainty and I love the dusty pink colour of the strap and the silver detailing which matches my rings that I wear every day (which Blair claimed he knew and did on purpose but, lets be honest, I'm not buying it). However, my absolute favourite thing about the watch is the 3D moulded daisy inside the dial. I have always had a love affair with daisies and the detail and intricacy of it is stunning, I could (and do) stare at it all day long.

6. THE FOOD NETWORK

I thought I'd save the weirdest fave until last and end this post on a high. No amount of rambling is going to explain this or make it seem any less bizarre but recently I have been absolutely obsessed with watching the Food Network. If you haven't been fortunate enough to stumble across it before, it's basically a TV channel that shows food and cooking programmes continuously, including some of the absolute greats like Jamie Oliver, Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmare and Man Vs. Food. In all honesty, I never plan on making any of the dishes I come across on the Food Network because I've never really understood how people remembered everything the chefs say since I seriously struggle to follow a recipe when it's written down in front of me but I just find it so soothing and relaxing to watch. Plus, I'm also pretty sure it might show programmes 24 hours a day (because yes, I have stayed up until 3am watching it) so if you're ever lying awake with nothing to do, you can thank me later. It's on channel 41 on my TV but if that's different for you then I'm sure you can google it and find out...or you know just stick to Love Island, you do you.

What have you been loving this month? Thank for reading!
