Favourite Makeup Finds of 2015

2015 has been a good year for me in a variety of different aspects, one of which being make up. It's the year I learned about the importance of eyeshadow primer and that there is no such thing as too much highlighter and it's the year I've come closest to managing a semi-socially acceptable eyeliner flick (although it's looking like it'll be 2020 before it's good enough to leave the house with). It's also the year I started using some of my ultimate make up faves that I can no longer live without. So I thought I'd share with you my favourite products that I tried, and loved, for the first time in 2015 and maybe, if you've never tried them before, they could be some of your faves for next year.

Mac: Studio Fix Fluid Foundation -

None of the products in this post are groundbreaking finds from some obscure brand that you will have never heard of before. However, many of them are products that I've known about and lusted over for a while but just never actually committed to buying. This year especially, I've ended up branching out and buying a few more higher end products than I have done in the past, purely because I know the quality is there (although I know there are loads of amazing, high quality drug store products too). I've always struggled to find foundation that works for my skin, mainly because I can't stand feeling like I'm wearing any and by the end of the day my face can get a bit oily. Studio Fix Fluid is the best foundation, for my skin type, that I've come across so far. It applies so nice and evenly and lasts all day, which is why I don't mind paying that little bit extra for it.

Soap and Glory: Archery -

I have pretty much been using this brow pen/pencil duo for the whole of 2015. I've always preferred a pen-like-tool for filling in my brows just because I find them to be a bit more precise and think they tend to give more definition. However, I've worked through my fair share of them before finally stumbling across this absolute babe. It was literally like a love at first sight (use) moment. I actually think this product can perform miracles because even if my brows are in need of some serious attention, I can always sort them out to an acceptable standard with just a few strokes.

Clinique: Chubby Stick Sculpting Contour -

Okay so I lied, I might have bought this product at the end of last year, I really can't remember but I've actually mastered the art of using it properly this year so really this is fine, let's just continue. If you've read my blog for a while you've probably heard me talk about this a few times but it I love it so so much. I don't think I will use any other product to contour ever again. It's so easy to control because it's basically a massive crayon and also blends so well. I love the definition it gives to my cheekbones, temples, nose and jaw line.

Eos: Lip Balms -

I got my first Eos lip balm, in the flavour Raspberry Pomegranate, for my birthday in June from my bestie Hannah because I'd been going on about them for forever. I absolutely loved it and used it daily so a few months later, when I was in America, I decided to buy another one to use throughout Winter in a slightly more Wintery-flavour (matching scents to seasons is a cool thing to do I promise). I opted for the scrumptious Vanilla Mint and love it equally as much. I literally use these every day and haven't found anything that moisturises my lips as well as they do.

NARS: 'Orgasm' Blush -

These last three products are from my massive Barcelona Sephora haul in July which you may or may not remember. Blusher has never really been one of those products I was overly interested in or put much thought in to and I would just tend to pick up any random blushers from brands that I like in general. However, it wasn't until I saw NARS blushers in the flesh that I knew I'd been doing it all wrong. It was so hard to pick a shade because they were all beautiful but the gold, shimmery highlight throughout Orgasm was too hard to walk away from. 2015 was definitely the year I learned my lesson about choosing a good blush.

Too Faced: Candlelight Glow -

If you've read my Three Ways to Highlight and Strobe post then you will have already seen me ranting and raving about my love for this highlighter. Even though I've got quite a few highlighters kicking about in my make up collection this is definitely my favourite, it's so shimmery and sparkly and looks so eye-catching in the light.

Too Faced: Chocolate Bar -

This eyeshadow palette is one of my absolute favourites and in the past few weeks I've rediscovered it's chocolatey goodness again. I beat around the bush and put off buying this palette at the start of the year before treating myself in Barcelona in the Summer but I wish I bought it sooner. It's got so many wearable shades that are good for just throwing on by themselves in the morning when you don't have much time, as well as loads of build-able shades to create a proper eyeshadow look.

So these are some of my faves that have come in to my life this year and will continue to be well used and loved next year. What products have you been loving throughout 2015 and do you have any recommendations that may become my Holy Grails for 2016? Thanks for reading!
