Chatty Post: Lara Croft and Mismatched Shoes

So far, this week has been one of those weeks and it's only Wednesday. I'm sure you know exactly what kind of week I'm talking about. The kind where absolutely everything that can go wrong does go wrong. This week I'm blaming it on the fact that I've got the cold but at some point or another, I'm just going to have to admit that I am in full on need of a brain transplant.

My Monday was off to a great start when, as the train doors began to close, I realised I was on the train with no ticket and no purse. So, in the eyes of Scot Rail, I was basically a first degree felon. I thought  momentarily about doing a Lara Croft and jumping through the closing doors but I soon realised I'd made my bed and had to lie in it. When the ticket collector came along and heard of my predicament she gave me a very definite 'I'm embarrassed for you' look before handing me the loser form to fill out which allowed me to stay on the train and pay tomorrow.

Since then, things have only gotten worse. Blair's look of disgust when I told him I would just drive us to the petrol station in my car when HE was the one who needed petrol was another low point of the week. However, Tuesday morning brought the embarrassment to end all embarrassments. As per I was rushing to get out the door. It was my second day at my new placement primary school and I was looking super teachery in my polo necked midi dress (placement is very definitely a no flesh zone). However, as I made my way to the front door of the school I felt myself walking strangely. I looked down and, lo and behold, I was wearing two different shoes. Two different freaking shoes. I could have died right there and then as I looked from the burgundy boot on my left foot, to the black one on my right. I seriously had no idea what to do. I decided to just go in and break the news to the class teacher (who I had only met once may I add) and hopefully by then I would have realised it was all a horrible nightmare and I'd wake up to a nice pair of matching shoes. No such luck. Thankfully I got to nip home, which is only like five minutes away, find my missing shoe, go back to school and pretend that none of that just happened. I'm actually too embarrassed to go back. Ever.

I wasn't planning on posting today because I literally could not have more Uni work to do if I tried (slight exaggeration). However, I couldn't bear to not check in with you all so thought I would leave you with a super short chatty post just to say 'hello, I'm alive but barely'. I hope you're all having a more successful week than I am, let me know what you're up to! Things should hopefully be back to normal on Friday (if I've not died of humiliation by then). Thanks for reading!

  1. The week can only get better, right?
I always take a pair of flat shoes in my bag on nights out, on my last night out I realised I'd packed odd shoes. Luckily the walk to the train station at the end of the night was pretty dark! x
