10 Happy Things

I've spent the past few days telling everyone I know how much of a lovely week I've had so it only makes sense to tell all of you too! Nothing groundbreakingly exciting has happened (bar number 4 and number 10!) but my week has been full of happy little moments that I thought I'd share with you all, because who doesn't love a little bit of Friday morning positivity?

1. I posted quite a deep/serious post for the first time on this blog on Monday and even though I was quite nervous to do so I had the nicest, most supportive response from readers and friends. It felt so nice to hear people saying that my post helped them or made them feel a bit better. So much so that I had a little happy cry at the end of the day and told all my friends how much I love them like the raging, hormonal, unstable mess I am. Nice.

2. On Monday, my bestie Hannah (who at some point I'm going to just start referring to as 'Hannah' because you should all know her by now) came to meet me in Edinburgh so we could go to Christian Union at Uni. We went for TGIs beforehand and ordered loads of starters instead of a main because we both don't like committing to one main meal. My mouth is watering for sweet potato fries as I write this.

3. Blair and I spent an evening watching back to back episodes of Dr. Foster, which I am absolutely LOVING. Suranne Jones is an incredible actress and the plot is so thrilling and exciting, I just love everything about it. If you haven't seen it yet, head to BBC iPlayer ASAP (but finish reading this post first obviously!).

4. This week Blair announced that he'd booked tickets for us to go to 'The Enchanted Forest' in Pitlochry, a couple of hours away from where we stay. It's basically a massive forest with loads of trees that light up different colours and there's cute statues and rivers and such. I'm so excited because as you might already know I love forests and cute lights so much, so it's the perfect place for a tree hugger like me really. I'm hoping to take some nice pictures when we go in a couple of weeks time. He's a keeper.

5. I've been back at Uni for three weeks now and I'm absolutely loving it. I'm so happy to be surrounded by my friends every day and this year, now that some of them have flats, we always have somewhere to congregate. I love going to my friend Lois' flat in our breaks to just lie in bed and have a good catch up. I'm so lucky to have the loveliest, most supportive friends and I wouldn't change them for the world!

6. I got my rats tails hair cut this week and it's feeling silky smooth. I've recently changed to a new hairdresser which is always a nerve-wracking decision but I love the way she does my hair and actually listens to what I want. There's nothing worse than when you ask for a trim and come out with an unintentional bob.

7. This week I finally got my Internet data renewed after running out due to a total 3G splurge in Septemeber. I have no idea how I managed to last without it for 10 whole days but I'm so glad I can imessage again and get rid of those dreaded green texts! I was determined not to cave and buy a bolt on. 'I am a fully functioning adult who doesn't need the Internet to survive' (repeat this phrase until you actually believe it).

8. My friends and I have recently acquired an American. Katherine has come all the way from Texas to wreak absolute havoc at church (not sure that was quite in her job description but she's definitely achieved it). She has us all over to her flat on Wednesday's for a gals night which is always traumatisingly fantastic and a total week highlight.

9. Even though we're just back at Uni, essay season is well underway with our first assignment due in a couple of weeks. I'm feeling super organised now that I've made a start (all be it a tiny start...but it's still a start ok!!). However, as per, I'm finding myself prioritising blog stuff over everything so if I miss a post or two over the next couple of weeks, don't be alarmed I'm just drowning in work but will return to normal asap. (Public Service Announcement over).

10. Last but certainly not least, this week this little blog hit 25,000 page views which is so crazy since I'm still quite a newbie. I'm so excited for what's to come and for the next 25,000 (a gal can dream).

I hope you've all had a great week and enjoyed this little burst of happiness and positivity. I'd love to know the best bits of your week too! Thanks for reading.
