4 Ways to Wear Denim this Autumn

Autumn is upon us and I could not be more excited. I absolutely love dressing for Autumn and wearing big cardigans, jumpers and scarves, it makes me excited just thinking about it! Another great thing about Autumn is getting back in to jeans after a Summer of wearing shorts and sun dresses (but lets be honest, I live in Scotland, I wasn't separated from my jeans that often!!). I love denim and the denim obsession that circling right now is right up my street. So I thought I would take some very Autumnal pictures and show you 4 ways I will be wearing denim this Autumn.

Double Denim:

Double denim is risky business but there's something about the taboo of it all that I love. My only rule for pulling off double denim would be to make sure the shades of the denim are completely different on the top and bottom. I paired my Topshop Deep Blue Joni Jeans (which you can find here) with a light denim shirt from River Island (similar here). I wore spiky navy pumps on my feet to finish it off (similar  here).

The Denim Shirt Dress:

I love shirt dresses so when I found this beautiful denim utility one from Miss Selfridge in the Summer I had to have it. I think Autumn is the perfect time to wear this dress because it's quite heavy making it a bit too warm for nice Summer days. It's unfortunately just sold out from Miss Selfridge but is still available to buy from Very here. I usually jazz this dress up a bit by wearing my much loved Topshop Floral Bomber Jacket. Sadly it's out of stock on the website but you can try find it in a store near you here. I usually just wear this with black tights and black chelsea boots, I got mine from here. To finish this outfit off I wear Mac's Men Love Mystery on my lips which is a crazy matte purple which I think looks so 90s with my equally crazy jacket!

The Denim Skater Dress:

I love the shape and colour of this denim skater dress I got from Oasis last year. Sadly it's long gone now but Asos has one in a similar shape, but a lighter shade, here. In Autumn I like to wear this dress with a really chunky, Autumnal, burgundy cardigan (similar here) and matching burgundy chelsea boots (similar here).

The Denim Skirt:

These cute little button up denim skirts are everywhere and I absolutely love them. They are so easy to pair with different things on the top and they always look like you've made a little bit more effort than when you're just wearing jeans. I got mine from here. I paired this skirt with an Autumnal floral chiffon shirt I got from Asos a few years ago but I think any floral shirt would look good. I also wore my beloved Zara cream and black suede heeled chelsea boots (similar here). (After I took these pictures I spilled some hand sanitizer on them, heartbroken isn't even the word, but I'm hoping suede cleaner will do the trick).

I added a cream cable jumper and a cute little bobble hat for when it's a little bit colder and then things started to get weird and I felt compelled to throw pretty red leaves everywhere. (Jumper here and similar hat here).

I hope you liked these four Autumnal denim looks, I had so much fun creating this post. If you have written any recent outfit posts, Autumnal or not, leave your links below as I'd love to read them! I'm now in the mood to burn a Halloween Yankee Candle and have a pumpkin spiced latte. Thanks for reading!
